Jim's ashes were spread in the Rocky Mountain National Park. It was one of his favorite places. His family spread his ashes above Dream Lake on a small plateau.

Bio

Jim was the oldest child of Henry & Nan Sherwood Schutza. He had a sister, Judy, and a brother, Jerry. Jim Lived in Ft. Worth until he went to college. He was a Texas Tech Red Raider where he was in the marching band. He finished his 1st degree and then went on to earn his law degree from Texas Tech. He then moved to Dallas where he practiced law until 2019. He married Marcia Neal Carter on 9-10-1988. He adopted her daughter, Carrie, a month before his son, Evan, was born on 5-29-1990. He was very supportive of his children attending all their games, plays concerts etc. He also was a very proud dad! He had a massive stroke and heart attack in March 2019. After rehab, he and Marcia moved to be near their daughter in San Antonio. He passed away, 2-01-2024, at The Heights of Bulverde, a nursing home he had lived in for 4 1/2 years. He once said he would know he had died if he woke up and his beloved dog, Lola, was there. I hope she was.
