Bio

Earlene Coody December 28, 1942 — October 3, 2024 Cleveland Earlene passed on October 3, 2024, at the age of 81. She was the youngest daughter of: Lemuel and Lila Coody Earlene had a happy childhood, though times were hard. She grew up helping her family in the garden and picking cotton. She would also go swimming in a nearby pond with her two older sisters. She also had horses and loved to ride. She married after graduating high school. As time went on, she had 6 children who were her life. She poured her heart and soul into each and every one of them. The other most important part of her life was serving the Lord. Our mother dedicated her life to God and never looked back. Earlene loved reading and studying the bible. She is survived by her: sister: Sena (John) Theall of Lake Charles, Louisiana; children: Sharon Leigh (James) KinCannon of Baytown, Texas, Angela Maylene (Brian) Gray of Dayton, Texas, Amanda Darlene Carmichael of Beaumont, Texas, Elizabeth Denise (Earl) Roberts of Cleveland, Texas, and Timothy Prentice Hinson of Abilene, Texas; 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of loving family Earlene is preceded in death by her: parents: Lemuel and Lila Mae Coody; siblings: Ray Coody, Doyal Coody, Mildred Freeman, and Doris Reeves; daughter: Selina Marie Elliott Visitation to pay respects to Earlene will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Faith and Family Funeral Services. The funeral services, a time to honor and remember Earlene, will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 12:00 pm at Faith and Family Funeral Services, with Pastor Aaron DeLaughter officiating. Following the service, we will proceed to Guedry Cemetery in Batson, Texas, for the burial. We are deeply grateful to Joshua Gray, Lukas Gray, Nathan Harrold, James Harrold, Alexander Gray, and Caleb Edwards, who will be honoring Earlene as pallbearers. Their support and respect for Earlene are deeply appreciated.
