Son of Mark Rollins McCall and Mary Alice Wheatcraft. 1st wife Mary Fern Thompson b 4 June 1901 in Nebraska and d 17 Feb 1977 in San Joaquin Co., CA. They had 1 child, Evelyn O McCall Muller, b. 24 Dec 1920 in Ord, NE and d. 25 March 2006 in California. 2nd wife, Frances Hubbard. Children include: Evalyn O McCall with Mary Fern Thompson and James Dougall McCall, Sabra Alice McCall and Roderick Edward McCall. OBITUARY: Retired Mail Carrier James D McCall, 66 buried Wednesday Funeral services for James D McCall, long time mail carrier of this community, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Hastings-Pearson Chapel. Mr McCall died Dec 27, 1965 in the Nebraska Methodist hospital in Omaha. Reb. John Nordgaard officiated at the 2pm service. Janice Tathbun was organist. Pallbearers were Art Larsen, John Sullivan, William Heuck. Jack Romans, Calvin Treptow and Erick Erickson. Interment was in the Ord City Cemetery. James Dougal McCall, son of Mark R and Mary Wheatcraft McCall was born July 17, 1899, in Wells County, North Dakota. When he was three, the family moved to Idaho. Then three years later the McCall family moved to Nebraska. He graduated from the North Loup Schools in 1916 with honors. After his discharge from the Army in 1918, he attended the University of Nebraska. At the age of 15, he began serving as substitute rural carrier and later received an appointment as regular carrier at North Loup. In 1922 he became carrier out of the Ord Post office. He retired Oct 26, 1965. At the time of his retirement, he had completed creditable service of 48 years and 10 months. A brilliant man, he was an inveterate reader all his life. Jim had always been active in the National and State Rural Letters Carriers Association. He was a Past commander of the American Legion Post No. 38 and Past master of Masonic Lodge A. F. and A. M. 103. he was engaged in farming and stock raising for fifteen years. James Dougal McCall and Francess Hubbard were married June 8, 1936. He is survived by his wife, Frances, two son, James Dougal, Jr. and Roderick Edward, a daughter Sabra Alice and also by Evelyn McCall Muller of Pacifica, Calif., a daughter by a former marriage. Sisters that survive him are Mae Sadler, Kearney; Frances McManus, Adelanto, Calif., Pearle Libby and Ruth Lemond, both of Springfield, Ore. Also, a brother, Edward R McCall of Tucson, Ariz. His father and mother and two sisters preceded him in death.
