Bio
William Marshall Gulledge Jr, a resident of Loxley Alabama, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the age of 89. Bill proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, working as a jet mechanic. He was a former pastor at Marlow Church of God and a carpenter by trade. Bill is preceded in death by parents, Irene Olds Gulledge and William Marshal Gulledge; his siblings, Aubrey Ronnie Gulledge, Oacie Brooks Gulledge and Imogene Fletcher Gulledge; and two sons, Aubrey Larry Gulledge and William Marshal Gulledge III. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Joyce Higgins Gulledge; children, Melody Jill Rawlings Gulledge and Jonathan "Mark" Gulledge; daughter-in-law, Carmelita Renee Gulledge; brother, Gaylord Gulledge; his grandchildren, Matthew and Faith Merchant, Andrew and Tiffany Merchant, Bo and Rebecca Odim, Rachel Merchant, Blake Gulledge, Joshua Brandon Gulledge, Lindsey Danny Gulledge, Richard Matthew Brant, Henrietta Marie Rogers, Erica Gulledge and Christopher and Rose Gulledge; great-grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews and other family members. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Summerdale Assembly of God Church, 404 E. Broadway Avenue, Summerdale AL, at 11AM. There will be a time of visitation with the family before the service beginning at 10AM. Interment will follow at New Cooper Cemetery in Robertsdale Alabama. Hughes Funeral Home, 26209 Pollard Road, Daphne AL, is assisting the family.
