Bio

Teddy J. Collard, born on March 8, 1943, in Alma, TX, to Bertha Mae Griffith and Theodore R. Collard. He passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20th, surrounded by his loving family. Teddy grew up in Arlington, TX, and graduated from high school in 1961. On June 22, 1968, he married the love of his life, Mary Ann Stalter, and together they raised three wonderful children. Teddy worked as an industrial mechanic for Procter & Gamble, retiring in 1994. During his career, he formed many lifelong friendships, fondly known as the "lunch crew," with whom he shared countless Thursday lunches. A devoted family man, Teddy dedicated his life to his loved ones. He was a wonderful father and grandfather, never missing a single event of his children and grandchildren. Known for his generosity, Teddy would give the shirt off his back to help those in need. His calm demeanor provided his family with invaluable advice during tough times. He was a gentle giant, often referred to as "Teddy Bear." Teddy's love for Friday Night Lights was unwavering, as evidenced by his dedication to holding Ennis Lions season tickets for over 50 years. His passion extended to collecting Ennis Lions memorabilia, which he proudly displayed to friends and family. Additionally, Teddy had a keen interest in Texas High School Football trivia, often sharing fascinating facts with others. Teddy is preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Mae Collard; his father, Theodore Collard; his brother, William Collard; and his sister, Joann Homer. Teddy's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 24, 2024 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the J. E. Keever Mortuary in Ennis. Celebration of Teddy's Life will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 10 a.m. in the Keever Chapel in Ennis. Interment will be in Rice Cemetery, Rice, Texas under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
