Bio

Threeca Oleta (Jones) Vandagriff, 87, passed away at her home in Sanger, Texas, on Saturday, September 21, 2024. She was born in Gunter, Texas, on August 21, 1937, to Olive (Harris) and Thomas Clinton Jones. Threeca attended schools in Gunter and obtained an associate's degree from Cooke County Jr. College. She married George Lonzo "G. L." Vandagriff on July 2, 1955, in Sherman, Texas. They moved to Denton, where their daughters, Melinda and Karen, began school, and then to Aubrey, where they remained for many years. She worked in Volunteer Services with the Denton State School for thirty-five years. Threeca lived life with zest and a little bit of sassiness. She had endless energy and could work or play circles around most people. She was honest and said what she thought, but always in a positive manner. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, and cooking. She was famous for her coconut and chocolate pies. When George was still living, they enjoyed square dancing, traveling, and a good game of forty-two. Most people who knew Threeca always said, "She is the sweetest person on earth." To her family, she was Mom and Nana. She was their biggest supporter and source of encouragement when needed. She loved her family fiercely. Threeca was a member of the Bolivar Baptist Church. Her greatest blessing was her relationship with the Lord. Visitation is from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Bolivar Baptist Church, with a memorial service following at 11:00 am. Pastor Dickie Amyx will officiate the service. Services are under the direction of Coker Funeral Home in Sanger. Please share a memory or offer your condolences to the Vandagriff Family at www.cokerfuneralhome.com.
