Bio
Rex Dean Lowell, of Moore, Oklahoma, passed from this life on September 10, 2024, at the age of 83. He was born on August 28, 1941, in Moore, Oklahoma to Orville Lorenzo & Martha (Janko) Lowell. Rex was a member of First Moore Baptist Church. He attended Moore High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1960, where he played football and today still holds records for high/long jump which he was extremely proud of. Rex married the love of his life on April 12, 1997, in Oklahoma City. He worked at Platt Lumber, and it changed hands and became Crutcho Lumber, where he unloaded railroad cars. In addition, Rex became a master at driving a forklift and operating heavy equipment in construction. Rex became the owner and operator of ABC Signs on Main Street in Moore and served customers there for over 40 years. He created the highest quality signs and banners, many of which are still hanging at multiple businesses state-wide. His quality and craftmanship created his well-known and trusted reputation as being "Old School." Even when things shifted to high-tech computer systems, Rex patiently taught himself and learned the system. He also made many name badges. Rex & Yvonne loved to square-dance and were extremely good at it. His passion for square-dancing was an added addition to his business. Rex was one of the largest distributors of square-dancing costumes and supplies. When others got out of the business, Rex remained "the place to go to" for the frilly and fancy attire. He was known nationally and travelled all over the United Sates to square-dancing conventions. His first love was spending time with his wife, Yvonne. His kind heart touched the lives of many and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter.
