ROBERTSDALE, ALABAMA Julius E. Childress Julius E. Childress, 75, died Sunday, June 6, 2008. He was a native and lifelong resident of Robertsdale. Childress was a former officer of the Baldwin County and Alabama Cattlemen's Association, a former board member of the Federal Land Bank and a member of the board of trustees at Robertsdale High School. The farmer and cattleman was a U. S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lois Taylor Childress of Robertsdale; two daughters, Julie Fincher of Loxley and Gina Smith of Millbrook; a son, Steve Childress of Robertsdale; a sister, Doris Stapleton of Robertsdale; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Robertsdale First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Copeland officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Loxley. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Robertsdale First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1140, Robertsdale, AL 36567; or to Greenwood Cemetery Fund, 14750 Baldwin County 66, Loxley, AL 36551. Arrangements are by Mack Funeral Home.
