Bio
Funeral services for Tena Newman Carter Bond, age 93, of Wisner, will be held 3 PM Friday June 6, 2008 at Wisner First Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Peoples officiating. Services will be under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Interment will follow at South Central Cemetery in Wisner. Visitation will be Friday from 1:30 PM until time of service at the church. Tena was born on September 9, 1914 to Eugene and Nancy Halford Newman in Gilbert and she passed from this life on June 2, 2008 at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro. She was a member of the Wisner First Baptist Church. She loved gardening and flowers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Tom Carter; husband: Amos Bond; son: Charles Carter. She is survived by one daughter: Rosa Stephens and her husband Nick of Wisner; two brothers: Thomas and Wes Newman; three sisters: Etta Hill, Irma Tisdale, and Bobbie Stephens; one daughter-in-law: Jane Carter; one granddaughter: Sondra Wright; four grandsons: Norman, Tommy, Bruce, and Mel Stephens; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Keith Ferrington, Keith Priest, Bruce Stephens, Nel Stephens, Norman Stephens, and Tommy Stephens.
