The Lusk Herald June 1965 Charles Podolak, 74, Dies Sunday (Unknown - June 20, 1965) Charles Podolak, 74, died Sunday at his home in Torrington following an illness of several months. The Rev. Marion Hixson of the First Methodist Church officiated at the services which were held from Colyer Funeral Home in Torrington this Wednesday. Mrs. Dorothy Fritz sang "Beyond the Sunset" "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "The Old Rugged Cross." Active pallbearers were Rudy Ruthar Jr., James Walla, Dick Glandt, Ernest Splitgerber, Otto Vondra, and Mahlon Peterson. Honorary pallbearers were Rudy Ruthar, Sr., Asa Ruth, Ferd Price, Faye Stiles, Russell Foote, Alva Stevenson, Gene Browder, Jim Shoults, Harry Benshoof, Carl Bales, Reuben Hahn, Earl Peet, Jim Shane, Andrew McMaster, Bill Glandt, Martin Glandt, J. L. Vondra, Paul Neimack, Harry Burnham, Anton Chaha, Charles Hansen, Fred Damrow, Pete Owens, Ira Murphy, Fred Lutz, Lake Harris, George Siebken, Edward Allen and Ben Sturman. Charles Podolak was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia and came to America at the age of 18. He came to Wyoming in 1914 where he homesteaded 20 miles south of Lusk in the Prairie Center Community. In 1937 he retired and he and his wife Nettie moved to Torrington. Survivors include his wife, a son Frank of Lusk, two grandchildren Ronald and Mrs. Janice Sturman of Lusk, and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one great grandson, four brothers and two sisters.
