Bio
John M. Janousek 86 of Hickman died August 28, 2024. Born in 1938 to John and Anna (Ratkovec) Janousek at Brainard, NE. He married Evelyn Kiene on January 16, 1960. To this union 4 children were born, Steven, Dale, Kimberly and Bradley. John worked for American Stores, UNL landscape Services, Pius X, Cathedral and Norris Schools. John loved riding his motorcycles and working on his acreage and all of his grandchildren. He was a fan of NASCAR, UNL Football and Volleyball and local sprint cars. He loved brewing his own wine and growing his garden. Survivors include his wife; 2 sons and one daughter; three grandchildren; 1 great- grandson and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents and infant son Dale, sisters Alyce, Helen and Alma and son-in-law Brian Schell. Rosary will be on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 10am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am at St. Michael Catholic Church, 9101 South 78th Street and burial will follow at the Hickman Cemetery.
