Bio

J D Sledge was born to James Madison Sledge and Sarah E Calvery Sledge. He was born in Prentiss County, Mississippi per his obituary. His World War I Draft Registration Card shows he was born in Forrest, N M on 14 Apr 1874. He married Mattie Unknown about 1898 and they were parents of six children, Claude, Adolphus, Cody , Rossie , Gladys and Jewell. They were divorced before 1924 when he married Altha Lee Potter. They were parents of four girls, Clovis, Opal, Zelda, and Dorothy. His death in Eldorado, Oklahoma, was caused by Angina Pectoris.
