Melvin James Barker, 79, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, June 11, 2007. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday in Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Burial: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. His personality was fueled by the fascination he felt for life. He was at his best seeing everything new through his grandchildren's eyes. He will be remembered by his kindness, sensitivity and optimistic attitude to life and living. Survivors: Wife, Carolyn Barker; sons, Jerry and Pat Barker, James Barker, Jeff and Melissa Barker, David and Cindy Jalovec and Stephen and Lynda Jalovec; daughters, Debbie Jalovec and Teresa Jalovec; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Nathan and Linda Barker; sisters, Paulene Watson and Clara and Ray Foliart; and a host of other family and friends.
