John Derrick, 47, Dies Early Today After Heart Attack John Derrick, 47, Borger resident for the past four years and an employee of the El Reno ice company, died at 8 a.m. today, after suffering a heart attack. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mable Derrick; three daughters, Mrs. Edith Hankins and Mrs. Wanda Rhea, both of Bunavista, and Mrs. Gladys Badgett of Hobbs, N.M.; two sons, John Derrick, Jr. and Calvin Derrick, both of Borger; his mother, Mrs. Sue Derrick of Tulsa, Okla.; two brothers, Mike Derrick of Ada, Okla. and Fred Derrick of New Orleans, La.; and two sisters, Mrs. Haynes Rhea of Milburn, Okla. and Mrs. Mollie Coffman of Tulsa. The body is resting at the Blackburn-Shaw-Brown funeral home, pending the completion of funeral arrangements. Derrick, 47, were conducted in the chapel of the Blackburn-Shaw-Brown funeral home at 2 p.m. today with the Rev. Charles McDowell officiating. Derrick died Thursday morning following a heart attack. The body was sent to Tishomingo, Oklahomn [sic] for interment services, which will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. He had lived in Borger for the past four years and was employed by the El Reno ice company.
