James"Jim" Shockey, 86, passed away on September 29, 2015 in Alamogordo,New Mexico. He was born on January 17, 1929 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jim was the managerof Whitefield Freight Lines for 22 years and served as Magistrate Judge for 3 years. He retired after 7 years with Primate Research Lab at HAFB. After retirement,Jim enjoyed traveling, fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors includewife of 66 years, Ouita; two sons, Jerry (Mary) of Bloomfield, New Mexico, andJay (Maria) of Mandeville, LA; daughter-in-law, Wanda Shockey of Alamogordo;six grandsons, Victor (Michelle) Crawford of Aztec, New Mexico, Kenneth Shockeyof Alamogordo, Jamie (Mara) Shockey of Flora Vista, New Mexico, Wayne (Jean)Shockey of Ruidoso, New Mexico, Dean (Carrie) Neppel of Pullman, Washington,and Gary Shockey of Artesia, New Mexico; two granddaughters, Sara Shockey ofNew Orleans, Louisiana, and Megan Shockey of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; sixgreat-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; two sisters, Aurelin Sellman ofMidlothian, Virginia, and Beverly McElroy of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was preceded indeath by son, Pete, and brother, Ken. A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday, October 2, 2015 at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dustin Wilhite officiating. A reception willfollow at 11 a.m. at the Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers,the family asks that you donate to the New Mexico Children's Home, Portales,New Mexico, or to your favorite charity of your choice. The Shockey familyhas entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to directthe services. Cremation will take place at PCS.
