Bio
Linda Kay Orsak Veselka, 78, of Hillje, TX passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 12, 1945, in Orange, Texas to the late Joe and Ella Orsak. Linda grew up in Louise, Texas and graduated from Louise High School. She met Johnny J. Veselka, the Love of Her Life in high school and they were married on July 15, 1965. Linda and Johnny raised their family in Houston, Texas where the family resided until Johnny's retirement. She loved making flower arrangements, baking and canning, attending the grandkids sporting events, traveling, spending time at the Bay house and tending her flowers, BUT MOST OF ALL taking care of her family. At her new home in Hillje, Texas, she had her own decorating room that had arrangements for every season, and she loved to decorate her home for each occasion. In her last year when she was unable to get around much her favorite morning past-time was watching reruns of Leave It To Beaver and Gunsmoke. She enjoyed playing bridge with her bridge group in Houston and continued when she moved to Hillje until she was no longer able. She was a current member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Hillje, Texas at the time of her death and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court Queen of Peace In El Campo, Texas. Linda is survived by her husband, Johnny, daughters Kristie Lynn Powell & husband John, Carrie Jo Kirby and husband Chuck, son John Shannon Veselka & wife Kim, brother, Bobby Joe Orsak, as well as five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe P. Orsak & Ella Orsak Engbrock and brother, Glenn Allan Orsak. Funeral services will be held on August 14, 2024, at Saint Andrew's Catholic Church in Hillje, Texas. Visitation starts at 9 AM with a Rosary being recited at 9:30 AM . The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 AM with Father Wayne Flagg officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Andrew's Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brandon Powell, Kenny Trochta, Gary Trochta, Donald Orsak, Billy Ray Orsak, Mike Prasek, Jr., Troy Prasek and Lance Janik. Honorary pall bearers are James Orsak and the grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Rose Hernandez, Linda's Care Giver, for her wonderful time of service giving comfort and spiritual help to the family during Linda's last two years of her life. She is an inspiration to all the Care Givers who provide this invaluable service in time of need. Memorial donations may be given to Saint Andrew's Cemetery or the Charity of Your Choice.
