Bio

Virginia Pauline Armstrong, 92, longtime Tyler resident, joined her husband Elliott Barlow (E.B. Army) Armstrong on May 21, 2008, after waiting faithfully for 31 years. A visitation and prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home, with graveside services at 2:30 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery. Virginia was born Feb. 5, 1916, in Marshall. She was a devoted homemaker and family matriarch and also worked as a beautician at Frost Brothers department store. She was also a devoted member of Green Acres Baptist Church and will forever be known as a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include her loving daughter, Mary Gale (Misty) Armstrong Wood and her husband Robert A. Wood; granddaughter, Christina Armstrong Collier and her husband Christopher Marshall Collier, who is serving our country deployed overseas; great-grandchildren, Noah Elliott Huddle, Brady Brianne Huddle and Amanda Star Chalfant.
