She was born in Lowndes Co., AL & came to TX with her father, Robert Green Champion & his 1st wife, Mary P Knight. Married 13 Oct 1866 in Henderson Co., TX (Book 1, 153) to William A. Massengale. Of this union seven children were born - 5 sons and 2 daughters.
