Luker, well known farmer of Henderson county, died suddenly at 8:15 Tuesday morning at the family home following a heart attack which she suffered shortly after arising from bed. Her husband caught her just as she was falling and immediately summoned Dr. R.H. Hodge, but she expired shortly after he arrived. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock with W.D. Metcalf, pastor, officiating. Burial followed at the city cemetery. Mrs. Luker suffered a fall last February during the sleet and snow and had suffered periodic heart attacks since. Born in Giles county, Tennessee February 4, 1876, she came to Texas with her parents as a young girl and the family settled in Robertson county. Mrs. Luker was the former Miss Lillie Massey. She and Mr. Luker were married at Frankin, Texas in 1891 and moved to Henderson county in 1911 where they had since lived. Surviving are twin daughters, Mrs. Joe Dean and Mrs. Walter Dean, both of Athens and two sons, Ben F. Luker of Dallas and J.H. Luker of Louisiana. Two sons, Charles and Will preceded her in death.
