Ermin Edward Snitily "Ed" was born in Wahoo, Nebraska, on Saturday, June 1, 1946, to parents Joseph and Hedvika Snitily. Ed passed away on the afternoon of Friday, July 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Ed graduated from Wahoo Catholic High School (now called Bishop Neumann High School) in 1963 and then attended Creighton University obtaining a Master's Degree in Mathematics. He served his country in the Air National Guard for 6 years before working for Mutual of Omaha. He would later take over the family farm in rural Malmo where he would raise hogs while also being an active member of Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo. He was instrumental in raising funds for the grade school and Diocese through the Bishop's annual appeal. He was also very active with TEC and Cursillo retreats. After retiring from raising hogs and running the family farm, he moved to Papillion and worked for Douglas County until his ultimate retirement in 2010. He was also an active member at Saint Columbkille Catholic Church in Papillion until his passing. Ermin was a hardworking and God fearing man who loved spending time with his family and had a passion for music. He will be greatly missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Eugene. Ermin is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Carol; children David (Valerie), Michael, Lori (Ryan) Gerdts, Rev. Steven, Karen, and Mary; step-children Julie (Larry) Lampman, Scott (Kirsten) Starman, and Terri (Kent) Deming; grandchildren Sasha, Nathan, Leah, Kiara, Ellasyn, Jace, Austin, Riley, Bailee, Rowan, Tressin, Owen, and Kyla; great-grandchildren Sutton, Leighton, and Henderson; sisters Joann Couton and Joyce (John) Kastl.
