Cyril & Methodius Cemetery ~ Plasi, Nebraska Visitation & Rosary Tuesday, March 7, 2023 Visitation ~ 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Rosary ~ 7:00 p.m. Svoboda Funeral Home ~ Wahoo, Nebraska Eugene Joseph Snitily, 80, of Omaha, NE, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at his home in Omaha, NE. He was born January 31, 1943 in Seward, NE to Joseph and Hedvika "Hattie" (Bartek) Snitily. Eugene graduated from Wahoo Catholic High School, Universal Trade School and Creighton University. He served his country in the U.S. Air National Guard. Eugene enjoyed his pilot's license for small planes, Moto Guzzi motorcycles, Farmall tractors, computers and he enjoyed his grandchildren's athletic events and school activities. Through the years he worked at several different careers including: Stava Manufacturing, Anderson Auto as a mechanic, Sunset Speedway as a security guard, Northern Natural as a cost estimating engineer, Gibbs and Hill, Enron and OPPD. Following retirement, Eugene worked at Menards. Gene was always the first one to volunteer to help others. He volunteered for many years at Jaycees, March of Dimes, YES, Mystery Manor Haunted House, Knights of Columbus and St. Leo's Catholic Church as an usher. Gene had a positive attitude, endless faith and loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Lanida; daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Munchrath of LaVista and Stephanie Davis all of Omaha; son, Matt Snitily of Lincoln; brother, Ermin (Carol) Snitily of Papillion; sisters, Joann Couton and Joyce (John) Kastl all of Wahoo; grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Hedvika "Hattie" Snitily; brother-in-law, Bob Couton; mother-in-law, Malinda Bielenberg; sister-in-law, Loueen Petersen; brothers-in-law, Donald Bielenberg and Daryl Bielenberg.
