C.F. Borden, 57, Passes at Home, Rites Thursday Claude F. Borden, 57, Upshur County resident since childhood, died Tuesday at his home, 717 Tyler St. Funeral services were scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Hopewell Methodist Church with the Rev. Milford Collins, the Rev. Glenn Carroll and the Rev. Jack Etherton officiating. Burail [sic] was to be in Hopewell Cemetery. Mr. Borden had been employed for a number of years by Moody Chevrolet Co. Born in Booneville, Miss., he came to this county as a child. On May 18, 1919, he married Nola Thompson in Gilmer, and she survives him. He was a Baptist and a member of Bethesda Masonic Lodge in Gilmer. Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. J.B. Wallace of Latch and Mrs. J.S. Davis of Texarkana; two brothers, Lonnie Borden and Herman Borden of Latch; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Thompson and Mrs. Bessie Bond of Latch and Mrs. Leo Elliott of Lufkin, and five grandchildren. Named pallbearers were Roger Black, Jim Furgerson, J.A. Carroll, Buddy Carroll, Cliff Andrews and Posey Seago. Honorary pallbearers were to be employees of Moody Chevrolet Co., E.R. Knowles and Paul Williams.
