Delores D. Feezell Horine Shoemaker 05 April 1934 - 08 February 1999 *** Delores Shoemaker GALENA, KS - Delores Feezell Shoemaker, 64, 1221 Harrison Lane, died at 1:50 a.m., Monday, February 8, 1999, at St John’s Regional Medical Center, Joplin, MO, after a sudden illness. Mr. (sic) Shoemaker was born April 5, 1934, at Picher, OK. Her parents were Eugene and Marie (Owens) Feezell. She had lived here all of her life. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Pittsburg State College, Pittsburg, KS, in 1962. She was a homemaker. She had been a member of the Joplin Women’s Bowling League for 50 years. For the past 25 years, she also bowled in the Hilltop Rollers League in Joplin. She was married to David L. Shoemaker on August 24, 1962, at her parents home west of Galena. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Kathy Hoyt, Baxter Springs, KS, and Staci Turner, Galena, KS; one stepson, David M. Shoemaker, Galena, KS; and two stepdaughters, Linda Williams and Suzanne Myers, both of Galena, KS; one brother, Randy Feezell, Rogers, AR; nine grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 1999, at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Rev. Jeff Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, KS. Pallbearers will be Marion Chesnutt, Jud Williams, Kevin Myers. David Scott, Shane Scott, and Jack Reed.
