Bio

Gordon R. "Curly" Mills, 91, of Adams died Friday afternoon, April 5, 2024 at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center. He was born on September 23, 1932 at Ansley and graduated from Ansley High School in 1950. Gordon served in the U.S. Navy. On September 9, 1958 he married LouWana Grim in Sargent. They lived in Sargent, Ansley, and Holdrege. In 2007 they moved to Adams. Gordon did some farming but mainly was a construction superintendent for many years. He was a member of the American Legion, Eagles Club, and Elks Lodge. Survivors include his wife, LouWana Mills of Adams; sons, Danny (Kristina) Daniels, Rex Mills, Dave Mills, and Bob Mills; daughter, Sandi ( LaGene) Bowley; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom (Joy) Mills and John (Judi) Mills; sisters, Edna Ferguson and Julie Teeters; sister-in-law, Joyce Mills; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Georgia (Hollenbeck) Mills; daughter-in-law, Sharon Mills; brothers, George (Mildred) Mills and Bill Mills; sister; Mary (Gus) Williams; brothers-in-law, Jim Ferguson and Bixby Teeters. Graveside inurnment services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 12, 2024 at the Highland Cemetery of Adams. Cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing. A book for signatures will be available on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from noon until 6:00 P.M. at the Fox Funeral Home of Adams.
