The Bonham Daily Favorite, Bonham, Texas, April 3, 1951, Page 2 "Savoy Man Dies After Attending Wife's Funeral SAVOY - John Isaac Hix, 69, passed away Friday at 7 p.m. at his home in the Anthony Community, near Savoy. Mr. Hix was the victim of a heart attack, suffered in the evening after he attended the funeral services for his wife, Mrs. Sallie E. Hix, earlier in the afternoon. He had been in ill health for about one year. Born Oct. 31, 1881, at Sparta, Tenn. Mr. Hix is survived by a son, Luther Hix, Savoy; a daughter, Mrs. Jewel Stubbs, Sherman; three brothers, Jim, Ed, and Luther Hix, all of Sherman; four sisters, Mrs. Effie Smallwood, Mrs. Lucy Brinlee, Mrs. Laura Edwards, and Mrs. Iva Leverett, all of Sherman. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Funderburk Chapel with the Rev. Ray Short officiating. Burial was in Bethany Cemetery, beside his wife."
