Mrs. Faye Hathcock, of Terrell, passed away peacefully on Jan. 1, 2024 with family at her side. Born Sept. 15, 1937 to Marvin and Emma Cox in Gaines County, Texas (near Seminole), Faye joined a family full of brothers and sisters, each of whom loved one another very much. When Faye closed her eyes here on earth and opened them in Heaven, she was immediately greeted by her Lord and Savior, whom she faithfully served her whole life. Faye was also joyfully reunited with her parents, her beloved husband Tom Hathcock, her cherished son, Tim Hathcock, and all her siblings: Herman Cox, Calvin Cox, Tommy Cox, Iola Weatherread and Audell Odom and her family takes comfort in knowing that she is truly at "home"! Faye lived her life as THE classic Proverbs 31 wife and mother and the home she made for her family was based on the foundations of faith that she learned as a young lady. Meeting her husband, Tom, at church, they went on to form a loving partnership that was a testament to serving Jesus through Tom's independent businesses and their shared love for bringing the Gospel to anyone who needed to hear it. Faye was an active member at her churches and was a longtime member of Life Pointe Church in Terrell where she was a Sunday School teacher and also served as Sunday School Superintendent. She was a familiar face at the many outreach activities of the church and her personality was the perfect combination of quiet calm and friendliness along with strong-willed beliefs that were softened by her generous and kind spirit. Being with her family gave Faye a tremendous amount of joy and she loved to cook for them especially birthday cakes for every birthday celebration as well as wedding cakes as beautiful as the bride! Faye had many crafting talents and she also enjoyed painting, scrapbooking, embroidery and playing the piano. Getting to go to new places for both travel and shopping with her many friends and family were also times Faye treasured and where many timeless memories were made and treasured forever. A lady who made sure her life was lived for the Lord and her family was always provided for, Faye will always be missed and forever held dear. Faye's legacy will continue to be carried on by her grandchildren: Kailey Bennett and husband, Chris, of Terrell, Megan Davidson and husband, Dakota of Wills Point, and Thomas Hathcock and fiancée, Katie Bury, of Terrell; Tim's wife, who Faye still considered her daughter-in-law, Mary Webb and husband, Tony; great grandchildren: Aiden "Jumpy", Kirstyn "Little Britches", Grace "Curly", Megan, Lauren and Mason Bennett; great granddaughter, Skylar; great grandson, Khyree; siblings-in-law: Carl Hathcock and wife, Gaye, Russell Hathcock and wife, Angelee, Glynda Fuller and husband, Robert and Brenda Hathcock as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends.
