Obituary for Tom Hathcock Thomas Hathcock, longtime resident of Terrell, passed away on Feb. 18, 2022 in Mesquite. Tom was born April 7, 1949 in Ennis, Tx to Harley and Donnie Hathcock, both of whom preceded him in death along with his son, Tim Hathcock, and brother, Travis Hathcock. Tom attended Hutchins schools growing up and, while in church, he met a beautiful young lady named Faye Cox. They married had a beloved son, Tim, while Tom owned and operated automotive businesses. He was a successful entrepreneur in Terrell being best known for Toms Paint and Body but he also owned and operated a mechanic's shop fixing radiators and general repair. Tom was also devoted to the Lord and he was a main fixture in many people's lives to show them that the love of Jesus was timeless and always available. Many times, Tom's loving and open heart as well as his generosity was given to others who were going through tough times. Tom not only helped by meeting basic needs but also meeting spiritual needs as he shared the life-saving Gospel that gave each person he encountered the hope of achieving better with the Savior's love. He was a lay minister, Sunday School teacher and involved in many other outreach ministries where his quiet way of being in the back ground but always available to assist was a welcome blessing to the church and the world. In his free time, Tom loved going to car shows especially in Mena, Arkansas where his knowledge of automobiles and his friendly personality made every trip a success by making new friends and seeing classic cars on display. Over the years, Tom also acquired a few cattle and, in other quite times when not at the shop, he could be found working them and enjoying the time outside in the country. Tom is survived by his wife of over 45 years, Faye Hathcock of Terrell; grandchildren: Kailey Bennett and husband, Chris, of Terrell, Megan Davidson and husband, Dakota of Wills Point, and Thomas Hathcock and fiancée, Katie Bury, of Terrell; Tim's wife, who Tom still considered his daughter-in-law, Mary Webb and husband, Tony; great grandchildren: Aiden "Jumpy", Kirstyn "Little Britches", Grace "Curly", Megan, Lauren and Mason Bennett; great granddaughter, Skylar; siblings: Carl Hathcock and wife, Gaye, Russell Hathcock and wife, Angelee, Glynda Fuller and husband, Robert and Gerry Hathcock and wife, Brenda as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends.
