Funeral services for Susie Birdwell were held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 14, 2008 ain the Jennings Chapel. Rev. Doug Feazell, son in law of Mrs. Birdwell will officiate. Burial followed in Bethany Cemetery, Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. Susie Jennings Birdwell was born April 13, 1915 in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, the daughter of John Franklin and Bertie Adeline (Parks) Jennings. She died at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday, May 10, 2008. She was 93 years of age. The former Miss Susie Jennings was a 1930 graduate of Marthaville, Louisiana high school. She was married to Alvin Preston Birdwell on October 25, 1930 in Marthaville. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1978. Mrs. Birdwell moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in January of 1993. She enjoyed quilting and cooking. Mrs. Birdwell was a member of Jennings Chapel in Louisiana. The family request memorials to Jenning Chapel. She is survived by, two daughters, Ramona and husband Larry Sweet, Tulsa, OK and Delores and husband Rev. Doug Feasell, Florence, MS; one son, Marlin and wife Debbie Birdwell, Huntsville, TX; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and one sister, Trudie and husband Dick Megason, Safford, AR. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mae Ola, Lou Ella, and Mertie Bell; and two brothers, Woodrow and Don.
