Jane McEwan Reid passed away on September 27, 1913. She was born on July 3, 1833 in Scotland to Henry McEwan and Jane Thompson, both of Ireland. OBITUARY: The Manti Messenger, Friday 3 October 1913: WORK OF THE SILENT REAPER Death of Mrs. Jane Reid Mrs. Jane McEwan Reid died Saturday at the home of her daughter Mrs. Ed Cox, in Orangeville. The remains were brought to this city and the funeral held at the Tabernacle Tuesday afternoon. She had been ill a long time and had been in Orangeville a couple of months. Mrs. Reid was born in Scotland 80 years ago. She was the wife of Bp. Wm. T. Reid who has been dead a number of years. She came to Utah 51 years ago and to Manti about 3 years after, where she has since resided. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. S. L. Voorhees of this city and Mrs. Ed Cox of Orangeville, four sons, Bp. Henry Reid of Orangeville, Jno. R. Reid of Castle Dale and Edward and Wm. F. of this city. Obituary submitted by find A Grave contributor VaunaMri.
