Information below taken from personal journal of Charlotte Gunnell: EARL HAROLD MERCHEN, 53, died 29 March 1969 at Soda Springs. Born 13 Oct 1915 at Crofton, Nebr. To Phillip and Dora McKee Merchen. He married Berniece Dehl 30 Dec 1940 at Hartington, Nebr. Survivors – his widow, a son, Phil and a daughter Mrs. Lynn (Sharon) Harris, five brothers & three sisters, Charles, Otto, Fred, Guy, Phillip, Mrs. Mary Keck, Mrs. Ann Keck, Mrs. Minnie Caylor. Funeral 1 April at Soda, burial in Fairview Cemetery
