On Saturday afternoon, March 9, 2024, Delores Lanell Norton, 79, of El Campo, moved to her Heavenly home. Delores was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family and set an example for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will lead them all their lives. Delores was born in El Campo, Texas on March 21, 1944, to the late Woodrow Wilson and Lillian Kubecka Wilson. Delores is preceded in death by her parents, sister Patsy Wagnon and daughter Kimberly Green, and grandson James Hildebrand. Delores loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus, with all her heart, and she loved God's Word. Though she was a humble gentlewoman, Delores was nonetheless a powerful prayer warrior and only Heaven knows what a wonderful and eternal impact all her many years of faithful praying have had on her family, her friends, and the world at large. Delores loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family and friends. She also enjoyed going to resale shops, and garage sales and finding a good bargain. She also loved playing Skip-Bo and was known as the "Skip-Bo Queen." She also loved watching Gunsmoke, admiring hummingbirds and the flowers in her garden, and looking at the ducks by the pond. Delores was known by her ladies' friends as "Red." In true Delores fashion, she always shared her favorite verse Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." The Family will receive family and friends on Friday, March 15, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at Triska Funeral Home for a visitation. A service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 10 am at First Baptist Church with Officiant Brother Richard DuBroc. Delores is survived by her Son, Roy Green and wife Sharon of Weatherford, Texas. Daughter Tisha Labay and husband Anthony of Nada, Texas. Daughter Rachal Skrovan and husband Jay of El Campo, Texas.
