The Scio Tribune Thursday, July 6, 1933 Mrs. Dostal Funeral Here 2 P.M. Friday Funeral services for Mrs. Joe Dostal, 37, will be held at the ZCBJ hall in Scio at 2 p.m. Friday of this week and interment will be in Franklin Butte cemetery. George Sutherland and Ignatius Faltus will speak at the funeral. Mrs. Dostal died at the farm home near Scio about 11 o'clock Tuesday night from a pancreatic disorder. She had been ill only a short time. Her maiden name was Fannie Balvin and she was born in Chatusice, Czechoslovakia, July 2, 1896. She came with her parents to North Bend, Nebraska, when she was six years of age and there spent her girlhood day. After her marriage to Mr. Dostal June 23, 1914, they went to Dallas, South Dakota where they lived until coming to Salem, Oregon, last November. A short time later the family came to the John Egr farm near Scio, where Mrs. Dostal died. Survivors are the Widower, two daughters and one son. The daughters are Emma, age 18 and Agnes, age 14. The son is Joe Edward, five years old. Her parents live in the east, as does one sister Mrs. Mary Buchta. Another sister, Mrs. Novotny, resides in Czechoslovakia. The Scio Sokol society will be represented in the choir and also as pallbearers. The latter with be J. F. Kukacka, Rudolf Borovicka, A. Henzendorf, B. Fotte, John Holecheck, and I, G. Faultus.
