Bio
Joe Melvin Gulledge, 87, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Joe was born in Bristol, Texas on April 25, 1936, to A. J. and Mittie Roxie (Penrod) Gulledge. Joe grew up in Bristol, Texas and graduated from Ennis High School, he went on to graduate from Dallas Baptist University. On December 28, 1972, he married the love of his life, Flip Green and they made their home in Corpus Christie, New Orleans and finally to Bristol in 1977. Joe served his country proudly in the United States Navy. Joe worked for Texas Instruments as an engineer for more than thirty-nine years before retiring in 1996. Joe was a member of the Bristol Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, hunting, golf and was a Cowboy's fan. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, a son John P. Gulledge and a brother, Jack Gulledge. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the Bristol Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
