Paul Francis Patak, 77 years old, passed away on December 23, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with dementia. Paul was born in Dallas, Texas on January 14, 1946. He graduated from Jesuit High School, and then joined the Air Force in 1966. After his return from Vietnam, he graduated from East Texas State University and began a long and successful career in staffing & recruiting. Paul was always the life of the party, whether he was dancing at the Czech Club, playing golf with his buddies, or simply spending time with his family and friends. You know there was always a good time to be had If you were fortunate enough to spend time with Paul. He was known as Pavel and Pablo to his closest friends, Bro to his brothers and sister, Uncle Paul to his niece and nephews, Dad to his son and daughter, Papa to his grandchildren, and Pappa Pay or Hanyak to just about everyone else. The title that Paul cherished as much as any was being the husband to Betty Patak, so much so, that he married her first in 1966 and then again in 2012. Paul and Betty had a love that stood the test of time for almost 60 years. He was pre-deceased by his parents Willie and Annie (Parma) Patak, his sister and brother-in law, Frank and Valerie Callan, and his nephews Ed and Jim Callan. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Deacon Don Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
