Nathan L. Sinclair, 56, of San Francisco, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, March 6, at university of California at San Francisco Hospital of cancer. He was born Jan. 22, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, son of Donald J. and Margauret Loveland Sinclair. He attended Luther College, Decorah, and received his bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Iowa. He later received his master’s degree from the University of California at San Francisco, where he was employed as a program assistant with the Cardiovascular Research Institute. At the time of his death, he had been working with the library at the university, researching the dangers and effects of smoking and second-hand smoke. Survived by: his mother of Cedar Falls; two brothers, Rod of Cedar Falls and Edward of Appleton, Wis.; a sister, Cora Sinclair of Omaha, Neb.; and a nephew, Samuel Sinclair of Appleton. Preceded in death by: maternal grandparents, Lester and Rosabel Loveland; and his father. Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Richardson Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with burial in Oakland Cemetery, Janesville. There will be no public visitation, his body has been cremate4d.
