Bio

New Iberia – A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Charles Marks Hodges, Jr., 82, who passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, with Military Honors by the Iberia Honor Guard. Rev. Keith Landry will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Tuesday, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. A rosary, led by Deacon Durk Viator, will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Monday. A longtime resident of New Iberia, Mr. Hodges was born on May 21, 1941, in Portsmouth, Virginia, to the late Charles Marks Hodges and Lucille Lamb Hodges. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force, and worked has the Director of Slots, for Cypress Bayou Casino. Mr. Hodges enjoyed a good cigar, bowling, playing golf, being around people, traveling, and watching FOX News. However, his greatest pleasure was spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Diane Cutrera Hodges; children, Dana Sosa, Christine Theriot (Greg), Theresa Ligon (Mike), John Demaya, Christopher Demaya, Tim Demaya, and Derek Hodges; grandchildren, Bria Sosa, Hayden Sosa, Cole Theriot, Brock Theriot, Nichelle Demaya, and Taylor Wallace (Tyron); great grandchildren, Ailoni Murray, Aryana Murray, and Amara Wallace; sister, Lelia Bryant; and his beloved golden retriever, "Rambo". In addition to his parents, Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Lassiter. Pallbearers will be Greg Theriot, Hayden Sosa, Cole Theriot, Brock Theriot, Peter "Chip" Cutrera, Jr., and Tyron Wallace.
