01 DEC 2021, sighted; gender is not given. 1) A Woodmen of America/Woodmen of the World monument. The Woodmen of the World organization was probably best known for its gravestones. Their motto Dum Tacet Clamat is Latin meaning "though silent, he speaks". This insurance company/mutual benefit society, started in the 1880's, would pay the widow $100 and provide a free grave marker, many of which were very ornate, some featuring vertical markers patterned to resemble the lopped-off trunk of a tree. I have a virtual cemetery of such markers. ~ Note: His Death record in the Oklahoma State Vital Records Index online states his death date as the 13th, not the 14th as noted on his headstone.
