Bio
Doris Harbison passed away at her home with her beloved family at her side on February 4, 2024. You didn't go hungry at her house because she always wanted you to eat something. She was ready to help in any way she could. She loved to cook, fish, and have family get-togethers. Playing cards was something she enjoyed doing, along with camping and brim fishing at Lake Guntersville. She was a manager at Blue Cross-Blue Shield, where she retired after many years of service. She was happiest around family. She was the Mama! Mrs. Harbison was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis and Cordie Stricklin; brothers, Avery, Olen, Tom, Dewitt, and Olvin: sisters,Helen and Bonnie; grandson, Shane Kirksey; daughter-in-law, Ann Harbison. The family will receive friends at Messmer Goodwin Funeral Home on Thursday, February 8 from 11:00-12:00. The service will follow immediately after visitation at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be at Bethany Cemetery in Crane Hill, Alabama (1612 County Rd. 201).
