Bio

Barbara "Bobbie" Carter Locke Gipson passed peacefully in the care of her beloved sister, Susie Tipps, on Thursday, January 18, 2024, in Orange Grove, Texas. She was 81 years old. Formerly of Glen Rose, Texas, Bobbie owned and operated a town landmark, Bobbie's Beauty Salon, for over 40 years. She loved her four girls and never missed a sporting event or school activity. In her free time, she enjoyed playing the fiddle at Oakdale Park, hosting friends and family and playing dominoes. But her true joy was being the best grandmother and great-grandmother. Bobbie is preceded in death by her father, Newton Coleman Carter; mother, LaVerne (nee Woolsey) Correnti; aunt, Verta Clay Carter; her beloved grandmother Myrtle Carter; first husband, Lloyd Burton Locke and second husband, O'Neil Gipson.
