Bio

William Matthew Kozlovsky, 83, of Itasca, Texas, passed away at 7:30 PM, Thursday, October 19, 2023, in Burleson, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am, Wednesday October 25, 2023, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, in Hillsboro, with Father Nghia Nguyen officiating. Burial will follow the mass at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Cemetery in Abbott. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, with recitation of the rosary at 6:00pm. William was born January 16, 1940, in Dallas, Texas, to Joe and Albina (Halzan) Kozlovsky. He met the love of his life, Josephine Rejcek, at a polka dance. It was love at first sight. They were married May 1, 1965, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Hillsboro and shared fifty-eight years together. He battled many health complications; bad heart, Covid, UTI, cancer, stomach and kidney trouble. He was extra tough; through the years, he died four or five times but was always brought back. This time, God said his body could not take any more. He was happy to the end; all the family was there, and he knew it. He loved and lived his Czech heritage and lived life to the fullest. William loved to dance polkas and waltzes; he and Jo would go dancing nearly every weekend. They were blessed with four children, a daughter and three sons; William was extra proud of them. A 'Jack of all Trades,' he could fix anything including plumbing, electric, mechanical, farm equipment, etc. A lover of the outdoors, he raised goats and cows and loved to drive his father-in-law's 660 Oliver tractor. He also had a great love for his 1967 Mustang and his 1964 Chevy truck. Preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Albina; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willie and Lillie Rejcek; brothers-in-law, Raymond Kapczynski, John Fall, Charles Phipps, Henry Rejcek, Clem Rejcek, and Richard Rejcek; granddaughter, Amber Kozlovsky; niece, Janet Rejcek Roach, and nephew, Randal Rejcek;
