Bio
Sarah was the daughter of Charles & Clarissa (Foster) Foster. She was united in marriage to William Henry Karnes. He died in 1921. After his death she was united in marriage to Joseph Anderson Phelps. He died in 1943. In 1953 she was united in marriage to John Davis. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. Sarah J. Davis Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 11 AM in the Tinkler Mission Chapel for Mrs. Sarah Jane Davis, 75, of 648 Bond Street, a Fresno resident since 1949. Mrs. Davis died yesterday at a local hospital after four weeks' illness. A native of Missouri, she lived in Torrance, Los Angeles County, for 18 years before coming here. She is survived by two sons, Fred Karnes of Hoxie, Kan., and Steve Karnes of Bayard, Neb.; two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Jeffers of Sidney, Neb., and Mrs. Nellie Loewenberg of Long Beach; a brother, Bert Foster of Sheridan, Placer County; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Woodward of Torrance and Mrs. Alice Rich of Fresno; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. The Rev. Joseph N. Opperman of the McKinley Avenue Community Church will officiate at the final rites. Burial will be in the Mountain View Cemetery.
