Bio

Eddie Blanton Murchison was the fourth of five children born to Peter Alexander Murchison Sr and Ada Bell Barnett. The family lived in Bastrop County, Texas. Eddie's father died in 1904 when Eddie was only five years old. His mother remarried in 1910 to Amasa Barlett Sr. The family moved to Austin after their marriage. Eddied married Verla Arnold in 1924. They had two children - a daughter Ruth and a son Melvin. Melvin died at the age of seven weeks. Eddied remarried in 1928 to Mary Irene Johnson. Eddie died at the age of thirty-nine in 1940. Mary Irene Johnson Murchison remarried and continued to raise Ruth Murchison as her own daughter.
