Bio

Dr. Alan Joseph "Cork" Kusek passed away on November 28, 2023 after a brief illness. He was a devoted and faithful husband, father, and grandfather. He was born on February 14, 1941 in Columbus, Nebraska to Adam and Evelyn (Warholoski) Kusek. After graduating from Saint Bonaventure High School in Columbus, Nebraska, he went on to the University of Nebraska where he graduated with a Doctorate in Dentistry in 1965. On July 16, 1966, Alan married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Jordan. From 1966 to 1968, he was stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia in the United States Dental Corp. During this time, Alan proudly earned the rank of Captain. In 1968, after leaving the military, he and Betty made their way to Longmont, Colorado. Their two sons, Patrick and Kyle, were born in Longmont. Alan is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Betty Kusek of Longmont, CO; sons Patrick Alan Kusek (wife Tamara) of Westminster, CO and Kyle David Kusek (wife Brittany) of Denver, CO, and four grandchildren. Alan is also survived by numerous cousins in Nebraska. A Celebration of Life for Alan will be held on Saturday, January 13th, 2024 from 12:00 to 3:00pm at Shupe Homestead, Longmont, CO. A light lunch and drinks will be provided.
