Son of Ivan W. & Margaret (Huiggens) King. Married to Alta Sievers on 4-16-1946. She died 1-4-2001. WW II - US Army Air Corps - US Air Force Career Ivan B. King, 89, of Wisner He died Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Wisner Care Center. He was born Sept. 16, 1918, in Creighton to Ivan W. and Margaret (Huiggens) King. He attended St. Ludger's School and graduated from Creighton High School in 1936. He worked at the Cuming County Courthouse prior to enlisting in the U.S. Air Force before World War II. Following the end of the war he attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He married Alta Sievers on April 16, 1946. He later resumed his career with the Air Force and retired in 1971. After his retirement he worked as a bank guard until 1980. They lived in Albuquerque, N.M., for many years. In 1998, he became a resident of Wisner Care Center. His wife preceded him in death Jan. 4, 2001. Survivors include: three brothers, Tom (and wife, Shirley) King of Plant City, Fla., Ed King of West Point and Bob (and wife, LaVonne) King of Livermore, Calif.; and two sisters, Mary (and husband, Don) Dolejs of Fremont and Judy (and husband, Frank) Kuiz of Council Bluffs, Iowa. He also was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the church. Burial with military honors will be in Wisner Cemetery.
