Fort Bend Herald, October 29, 2023: Archie Lee Parker, Jr., 69, of Rosenberg, Texas, passed away on October 25, 2023. He was born on May 17, 1954 in Richmond, Texas to Archie Lee Parker, Sr. and Lydie Meyer Zwahr Parker. He worked as a prison guard for 18 years before his retirement. His hobbies included shooting and gunsmithing. He took great pride in his yard. He also collected various Snoopy keepsakes. This loving husband, father, Papa, brother, and friend will be missed. In addition to his parents, Archie is preceded in death by siblings, Loyd Zwahr, Bessie Heitman, and Virginia Lee Volarik. Survivors include his wife of nearly 40 years, Joan Lea Walters; children, Dwayne Zatopek and wife, Mandy, Jodi Francis and husband, James, Trisha Zatopek, and Kristie Parker and Clark Balke; sisters, Lydie Mae Kelley and husband, Karl, Elldora White and husband, Paul, and Lois Macha. Archie was the proud Papa to Kailey and Madisyn Zatopek, Jimmy Downing, Ashley Leslie and husband, Blake, and Parker Francis. His legacy will live on in his great-grandchildren, Riley Murphy, and Logan Leslie. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and a host of friends. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2023, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
