Decatur Republican 12/6/1875 Some few weeks ago this gentlemen left his home in this city for Denison Texas, with the hope of benefiting his health, which had been poor for several years and particularly so during the last six months. On Thursday evening Mrs. Odor received a telegram from Mr. Traughber, who went west in company with Mr. Odor, to the effect that her husband was very sick and could probably live but a short time. She at once notified Mr. J. N. Odor, a brother of her husbands and the two started on the 8:10 train Friday morning for Texas. About 8 o'clock yesterday morning another telegram announcing that Mr. Odor died on Thursday night at 8 oclock. These are all the particulars that have come to hand at this writing but it is expected that his body will be brought here early next week for interment, when full particulars will be obtained and published. The Macon count Bar is to hold a meeting this afternoon for the purpose of expressing the respect of its members for Mr. Odor as a man and an as attorney and for such other action as the occasion may seem to call for. The action of the Bar will not be in time for our paper today but will appear in our next Monday issue. Mr. Odor was a man of a very upright life and was respected by all who knew him.
