Bio

Marion Carl "Skeeter" Kopycinski of Tuttle, Oklahoma, passed away on October 4, 2023, at the age of 94. Skeeter was born in Harrah, Oklahoma, on September 28, 1929, one of Leon and Carolyn Kopycinski's eleven children. Skeeter faithfully served several years in the United States Navy, where his culinary talents earned him the job of Chef to the Colonels. From the time he was quite young, he was a talented and passionate musician. With his natural musical ability, Skeeter was able to play any instrument you put in front of him. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening and especially loved growing tomatoes. He was a softie for animals, and over the years, personally rescued countless pets who needed a loving home. More than anything, Skeeter loved his family and cherished quality time with the people he loved. He will be dearly missed. Marion is preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Kopycinski. Left to treasure his memory are his three daughters, Patricia Harris, Charlotte Poplin and husband Donny, and Debbie Giles; eight grandchildren, Brandon Harris and wife Amanda, Austin Harris and wife Nazarene, Victoria Harris, Joseph Dutton and wife Heather, Brandon Dutton and wife Janell Hawkins, Stormy Giles, Teresa Giles, and Windy Giles. Marion is also survived by his brother, Robert Kopycinski, as well as his large support system of close family and friends.
