Bio
Kathryn Marie (Janulewicz) Headlee, (known to some as Butchie) age 79, of Aurora, Nebraska left her earthly bonds to enter her eternal home Wednesday October 4, 2023. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2023 at St. Josaphat's Catholic Church in Loup City. Father Richard Piontkowski will celebrate the Mass. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Visitation will be one hour before service. Kathy was born March 22, 1944 in Loup City Nebraska, to Ben and Bertha (Bukowski) Janulewicz. The eldest of three children, she attended Catholic school in Loup City and graduated from Loup City High in 1963. After graduating she lived for a short time in Denver with her aunt and also in Lincoln, NE where she worked for Golds Department Store. Kathy married James (Jim) Patterson on February 19th, 1966. They had two children, RaBertha (Robbie) and Danny. Jim and Kathy started out in Loup City, later moving to York NE, where Kathy held various jobs, one of which was at the American Legion. They divorced in l976. She then married Gordon Headlee in 1987 on a boat on Lake Erie in Ohio. Music for the wedding flotilla was provided by Sal Bucchieri, former member of the Arthur Godfry Show. They divorced in 1997. Kathy dearly loved nature and spent many hours walking the sandbars of the Middle Loup River, often gone for the entire day. She inherited her love of gardening from her father and took pleasure in taking pictures of the beautiful flowers she grew. Kathy also delighted in thunderstorms and gentle snow fall. Quite often her mother would call when the snow started falling and they would walk the town especially up to blueberry hill. Those left to cherish her special memories are her daughter, RaBertha (Troy) Fox of Hampton, NE and their daughters, Maranda and Krista. Her son, Danny (Kerri) Patterson of Loup City, NE and their children, Cody (Kylie) Patterson, Hope Patterson, David (Carmen) Hall, Brent (Sam) Hall, Brandi (Cody) Hruby, Mika McQuiston and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her youngest brother Timothy (Trudy) Janulewicz and their son Joshua. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Bertha and her middle brother Michael Janulewicz.
