George A. Cook was born in Dodge county, Wis., Jan. 16, 1854. He came with his parents to Iowa, where he grew to manhood and where he continued to make his home. In 1879 he was married to Miss Mary Clipston, of Shenandoah. To this union were born two boys and two girls' Joe, for several years a barber here; Mesdames Geo. Packard and Geo. Clark also well known here. About two years ago his health failed and he gradually grew worse. Last summer he came to this county and made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Packard. Only a few days before he died he went to visit his daughter, Mrs. Clark, where he died suddenly Oct. 11, 1914. Funeral services were held from the M. E. church, Wednesday, at aa o'clock, conducted by Rev. Main, assisted by D. J. Poynter. Interment was in Rose Hill. (The Albion Argus, Albion, Nebraska, Thursday, October 15, 1914)
