Visitation for Toby Gene Davis, 90, of Tyler, TX, will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Toby passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023 in Tyler following a lengthy illness. He was born August 7, 1933 in Big Sandy to Cleo Plummer Norred Davis. Toby graduated from Gladewater High School where he received a full athletic scholarship to Baylor University to play football. He received his Bachelor of Science and coached athletics at La Vega High School and Troup High School. He entered the world of finance at GMAC, Citizen's National Bank, and then retired from Heritage National Bank. Seventy years ago, he married the love of his life, Ida Merle Turman Davis. They raised four children in Tyler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Merle; son, Toby Davis Jr.; his mother, Cleo Davis; his sister, Johnnie Sanders; and a brother, Billy Davis. He is survived by daughter, Linda Davis Pye and husband, Allen of McKinney, son, Charles Davis of Tyler, daughter, Barbara Davis Westbrooks of Chandler, grandchildren, Karey Pye Aldaco and husband, Raymond of Celina, Katie Pye McLain and husband, Kirby of McKinney, Kristi Westbrooks Torres of Round Rock, Marc Westbrooks of Round Rock, Erica Davis Cummings and husband, Andre of Tyler, and 7 great-grandchildren. Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Crouch, Bob Stone, Raymond Aldaco, Kirby McLain, and Marc Westbrooks. If desired, memorials may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, 7925 S.
